International insurance is a complex and highly sophisticated industry, touching on virtually every aspect of the global economy. In London, that complexity is taken to another level by the ecosystem in which we operate; populated by brokers, underwriters and service providers. In order to advise and represent Lloyd’s brokers in this dynamic environment, LIIBA has drawn together a team highly experienced professionals with first-hand knowledge of the London broking sector.
I became CEO of LIIBA in January 2016. Prior to that I was head of the London Market Group’s Secretariat where I led the work that produced the milestone London Matters report. I began my career as a Government economist and spent 10 years in financial services regulation prior to joining LMG. As part of my LIIBA role I am also a Director of BIPAR (European Federation of Insurance Intermediaries) and sit on the Executive Committee of the World Federation of Insurance Intermediaries (WFII). I am also a past Vice President of the Insurance Institute of London.
I joined LIIBA in June 2015, having previously held operational roles within a number of broking firms, concentrating on business change. I look after a number of LIIBA committees and working groups, including placing, claims, tax and facilities. I also lead LIIBA’s initiatives around diversity, equity and inclusion.
I started in the reinsurance market in 1986 on the underwriting side, moving in 1990 to the broking side. Following 16 years with Greig Fester Ltd (laterly Benfield Group) and 5 years with Alwen Hough Johnson.
I joined LIIBA in 2011. Today I fill my time with supporting our members in all areas of the market. Much revolving around central services and operational technology.
I’ve worked at LIIBA for 30+ years, I am PA to LIIBA CEO, and also deal with membership, and LIIBA accounts. Basically, if I can’t help you directly – I will know someone who can!
I have worked in the London Market for nearly 10 years in various organizations and a wide variety of roles. I joined LIIBA in May 2018 and my current role is focusing on LIIBA Social Media, communications and webinars.
Previously to working at LIIBA, I worked for various Underwriting firms specializing in political risk and trade credit, Financial Lines and Professional Indemnity.
Amy has over 10 years’ experience in the Insurance and Wealth Management industries. Prior to joining LIIBA, Amy was responsible for a Claims division at an insurance recruitment company, specialising in the Lloyd’s and London Market. Amy was heavily involved in making market relationships and assisting Lloyd’s Brokers & Underwriters with successfully placing people into their teams.
Amy joined LIIBA in May 2024, and will be involved in looking after LIIBA committees, and also assisting on LIIBA’s initiatives around diversity and inclusion.
My introduction to the Insurance world was late in the 1990’s when I was employed by a local firm, The Woolwich Insurance Services. I then progressed my career within the London market, working for Yasuda Kasai Insurance Company of Europe (Now Sompo). I stepped into the broking world around 2004 working for Griffiths and Armour Global Risks and I am pleased to say that as of 1st May 2024, I now work with the fabulous team here at LIIBA supporting our members in all areas of the market.
