Our “EY Summer Season” webinars will run over three weeks, covering: Operational Resilience, Data Protection and SMCR.

The first of these webinars, covering Operational Resilience, takes places next week – Wednesday 30th June 2021, 9.45-10.45.

In this interactive presentation EY will explore:

  • What is operational resilience? Rising regulatory expectations in respect of operational resilience as they expect firms and the financial sector as a whole to prevent, adapt, respond to, recover and learn from operational disruptions.
  • How are brokers and carriers responding? Across the London Market insurance carriers are putting in place programs to identify their important business services, set impact tolerance and seek to understand critical points of failure – testing their plans – ready to report in 2022. Brokers are a critical part of the ecosystem facing off to the policyholder (and/or beneficiaries) linked to multiple important business services and expectations on their role is likely to increase.
  • How are third party resilience expectations increasing? There should be no surprises that when the Regulators published their papers on operational resilience they also issued papers on third party risk management. As carriers are now reflecting on their TPRM arrangements many brokers will need to do more to provide comfort to their ecosystem partners.
  • Attendees will gain an understanding of how they can take practical steps to ensure they comply with the resilience expectations of the regulators and ecosystem partners.

LIIBA has arranged for Lloyd’s to hold a breakfast event for senior c-suite executives from broking firms to run through implications following the implementation of the first DA system introduced under the future at Lloyd’s next month. The agenda is noted below along with how to register directly with Lloyd’s for this event.

We would encourage attendance to assist broking firms in understanding the roadmap and resources that will be required to support the day 1 implementation, subsequent updates and introduction of the remaining systems over the course of the next 18 months.
